This piece reflects the artists’ dog digging and exploring his surroundings. There have been numerous interpretations when discussing what the artwork reflects. One concept relates closely to greek mythology, as the dog appears to have three heads- which the artist himself sees as a positive reflection of open interpretation.
In actuality, the piece reflects the graceful movement of the animal, witnessed by the artist as inspiration for this piece. Evidently, there is a liveliness captured within the animal, with strong reference to mark making and line work. Creating the strength of movement adds an essence of immortality in a moment captured from everyday life and activity.
